This policy explains what personal data Sonco Pay collects, why we use it and the choices you have.
1. Data we collect
Account data: your name, email address, business name, language and password, which is stored only as a secure hash.
Payment data: invoices, payment links, amounts, payment methods, wallet addresses and transaction references.
Customer data you send us: the names, email addresses and identifiers of your customers that you add to invoices or send through the API.
Technical data: IP address, browser type and activity logs, used to keep the service secure.
2. How we use it
We use this data to provide the service, process and record payments, send the emails you request, prevent fraud and abuse, meet our legal obligations and improve the service.
3. Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser stores your language choice. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
4. Sharing
We share data only when needed to run the service: with payment providers that process a payment, with the email provider that delivers our messages, and with authorities when the law requires it. We never sell your data.
5. Your customers' data
When you send us data about your customers, you decide why it is collected and you must inform them. We process it only to provide the service to you.
When a merchant asks for it, Sonco Pay collects some payer information on the payment page (name, email address, phone number, country). It is passed to that merchant to fulfil the order, used to send the payment receipt, kept for no more than 365 days and then erased, and never shared with another merchant.
6. Retention
We keep account data while your account is open. Payment and accounting records are kept for as long as the law requires, even after your account is closed.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, passwords and API keys are stored as secure hashes, and access is limited to the people who need it.
8. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to its use, by contacting us. Some data must be kept to meet legal obligations.
